From The 2009 Reunion Committee

Hello, everyone!
We hope you are all doing well and have had an enjoyable summer and early fall.
With 2009 just around the corner, it’s time for us to move into full planning mode for our SIXTH (can you believe it!) family reunion. So, first and foremost, please be sure your calendars are marked for June 19 – 21, 2009, for a wonderful weekend together at the Inn at Pocono Manor in the Pocono’s. (Go to http://www.innatpoconomanor.com to see all we have in store for us.)
Second, we would like to solicit volunteers to work on the various committees which contribute so much to making our reunions a success. Please look at the list below and let Robin know how you’d like to help. We’d love to see everyone get involved in one way or another.
Children’s activities –preschool*
Children’s activities – elementary age*
Children’s activities – teen and preteen*
Afternoon softball game
Family traditions program/service
Reunion book
Family tree
Genealogy update
Saturday night program and MC
Entertainment
Hospitality
Photography
Website update
* Could include preparing entertainment for Sat. night
There are also a number of opportunities to contribute monetarily. These include: printing of the reunion book; providing reunion favors (such as t-shirts); sponsoring extra events such as a mid- or late-evening cocktail party (some have already inquired about this); providing bottled water and/or snacks for the softball game, etc. Other ideas are also welcome.
We’re truly excited about this upcoming reunion; we think it will be our best yet. Your responses to our questionnaire last spring indicated we’re going to have a banner attendance – probably topping 100. And many of you said you were planning to come a day early, which is great. Best of all… we’ll have a chance to meet and welcome to the Rubinstein family our largest number of new babies and new spouses of any previous reunion!
Coming up before we know it will be reservation time! We’ll be contacting you again in February with instructions on how to reserve your rooms directly with the hotel. The hotel has requested that we have our reservations in by the end of March to increase the likelihood that our rooms will be in close proximity to one another. More information on making your reservations will follow.
Thank you in advance for volunteering to help out on a committee. If you would let Robin know in the next few weeks which committee you’re interested in, it would be very helpful.
